The Speakers were:
  • Joyce Preston, who prepared her speech on Evaluation Contest introductions.  Her speech was well executed, and was 6-8 minutes long.

    Short and Sweet Meeting

Since we were trying to support our fellow Goldminers in their Division B Humorous Speech and Evaluation Contest, we purposed an abridged meeting.  Serena did triple duty by being our Presiding Officer, Toastmaster, and Grammarian.  Ray Atkinson agreed to be our General Evaluator, John agreed to Evaluate Phyllis's speech and Phyllis agreed to be Jokemaster in addition to giving her speech.  Cynthia served as Ah Bell/Ballot counter.  Our guest from Florida, Jay Johnson graciously served as Timer.
Eugene Preston present our Table Topics questions.
Sharon went through a vortex that sent her to Hawaii where she diverted the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Serena was on a scuba diving adventure and found the lost treasure of Atlantis.
Cynthia won the Powerball lottery and gave the money away after she paid off her bills.

Jay advised that everyone qualified for voting in Toastmasters.

Phyllis proceeded to give her speech, "Bella's Encore" in which she satisfied the first project in her Interpretive Reading from the Advanced Communicator Manual.  This is a story about a girl who had selective mutism due to social anxiety and how Isabelle "Bella" Rose, a pet therapy dog, helped her to speak again.  This story was told in the narrative of the dog's owner, Jane.

We took a 5 minute recess so evaluations can be prepared.

Upon our return, Ray called John to give his evaluation of Phyllis.  John used the word of the day when he was providing feedback.
Cynthia reiterated that we made it work together.  She also stated that we need everyone to sign the release if they want their speech videotaped.
Phyllis reminded everyone that it is time for the club to build a basket for the conference.  She will send an e-mail to the club with further details.
Sharon asked for bloggers and invited Ray and Eugene to blog about the Hiking Adventure.
John advised that he is working on a Roast to honor our long time member, Richard.  He stated that Richard is available November 2nd and 9th.
Cynthia awarded the Best Table Topic Speech to Serena and the Ah Stick to Ray.  Meeting adjourned at 9:23 am.
Meeting was called back to order to induct Eugene as a member to our club.
Meeting was adjourned at 9:30 am.
