3/9/13 At the Mine

I'm so excited about the International Speech and Table Topics Contests taking place this week that I forgot the blog!  The memories, however, still exist and what a fantastic meeting we had!!

Serena served as the Presiding Officer promptly at 8:30 AM.

As Thought of the Day presenter, I utilized the word of the day, meticulous.
Meticulous planning will enable everything a man does to appear spontaneous.  Mark Caine

Al Minter dished up some goodies as our Toastmaster of the Day!  Thank you Al.

John entertained us with his Joke of the Day while Gerry kept us grammatically erect as Wordmaster.
Sharon took no prisoners as Ah Bell/Ballot Counter as Karen kept us punctual as Timer.

On to Table Topics as Al allowed me to present this function today.

Shyam - Do you push the elevator button more than once & do you believe it makes the elevator go faster?
Sunitha - If you had to move to another state or country, where would you go?
Serena - Would you reduce your life by 10 years to be drop dead beautiful or famous?
John - Would you rather be a worried genius or a joyful simpleton?
Karen - How old would you be if you didn't know how old you are?

Best Table Topics - Shyam, who stepped out of the room to continuously hit the elevator button!

Two speakers graced us with their wisdom today.
Mike  - CC Manual #2 -" Getting Started in RC " (Remote Control)
Dale - CC #6 - "Who Are You Attracting?"

Best Speaker - Dale

Jerry served as General Evaluator with meticulous precision.  He introduced our Evaluators for the day;

Richard - evaluating Mike
Jessica - evaluating Dale

Best Evaluator - Jessica

Business Section

Comments were shared about Speak and assistants (Shyam, Cynthia & Matthew) were thanked.
Contest details were confirmed by Karen as we prepared for the Contests!!!!
Jessica requested help for Toastmasters at the Lake Contests on March 21st at 6:00 PM.  Your assistance is appreciated!

The meeting ended at 9:48 AM - Al - you truly are a Distinguished Toastmaster.  Great Job!

Joyce Preston
